Politico reports today that 68-year-old Republican Jim Risch will be the beneficiary of a Wednesday fundraiser at a famed steakhouse, The Monacle.
In an item headlined "GOP CHIEFS STEP UP FOR RISCH," the online political news site reports that nearly 30 Senate chiefs of staff are listed on the invitation, along with lobbyists for Microsoft and Visa and Will Hollier, a lobbyist and former aide to Sen. Mike Crapo, R-Idaho.
Political Action Committees are required to pay $2,000 to sponsor the event; individual sponsors pony up $1,000. Attendance, without sponsorship, is $1,000 per PAC or $250 per person.
Risch has said he plans to run again in 2014. He raised about $282,000 in 2011, spent about $114,000 and has about $119,000 banked.
