Could Temple be in Boise State's division in the Big East?

The Big East's Western Division is shaping up to be Boise State, San Diego State, Houston, SMU, Memphis and ... Temple — according to reports from Philadelphia.

All six are new additions to the Big East. Temple will join in July with the other five joining in time for the 2013 football season.

"It could play that way, which is fine," Temple coach Steve Addazio told the Philadelphia Inquirer. "We don't really know that. But I've heard those things."

Added Addazio: "Boise is a good team. The other teams are the same teams we are. You have to get in a plane and travel. So you know, you might have to travel 40 more minutes than you did the other. But you are still going to get on that plane and fly."

The Big East's Eastern Division would consist of conference holdovers Louisville, Cincinnati, Connecticut Rutgers and South Florida and newcomer Central Florida.

The division alignment would likely hold just for the first two years of Boise State's Big East tenure. Navy joins the league in 2015, likely causing some shifts in divisions. And that's assuming the league can hold together.

• Division names: I saw this suggestion from @KevinOnCFB on Twitter and I really like it. He suggested naming the Big East divisions — Colonial (for the East) and Frontier (for the West).

Who really cares.....

Just invest the money wisely and position yourself for the next round of conference realignments.

The new No-mountains West division

Meh.

Agree with testpilot.

Could, Might, Maybe

You're sure putting a lot of faith into ONE article in a Philadelphia newspaper that is truly nothing more than speculation at best.

SEEMS TO BE IN LINE WITH THOSE IN THE KNOW

Of course those are not myself or Bronco754. However whose to say that some big wig with the no time in his life to post much less read these opinions might at some time actually throw us Bronco fans a bone? Could it be those in Philly? Possibly - so thank you Murph. I say all news is good news because with Coach Pete we get no news, that is except for what he lets Brian and Chadd report : )

That's the way it should be

Let Coach Pete do what he does best and Let BM and CC do the reporting. Why the heck do you want updates from Coach Pete???

Why does it matter at all?

Mountainless west!

What? No southeast Tennessee or whatever the new AD came from? Ya know, if this wasn't turning out to be so sad, it would actually be a laugher!

He's from

Kentucky. You may have heard of them, the basketball program that was a major portion of his responsibilities just won the national title. Then again, based on the lack of knowledge exhibited in your post, maybe you haven't heard of them.

Whatever...

Stump jumper, just the same!

Big East might be laughing stock but

I would much rather be in the Big East than the MtnUs conference/alliance or what ever that "Mid Major" thingy is.

The Big East is actually shaping up pretty cool. I am bummed that BYU didn't join the western division though. I have a feeling AFA will join eventually.

A temple has been across town since the 80s

When AFA is invited for the

When AFA is invited for the second time they better say yes in the
first nano second or Fresno State will, rather have Fresno anyway.

huh

would have made more sense to put Louisville in the west division with proximity to Memphis, but maybe someone had to appease Louisville to keep them from leaving the conference.
