HB 542aa on ATV use voted down in the Senate

The bill would have restricted Idaho Fish and Game's ability to regulate ATV use by hunters. The bill fell by a 15 to 20 vote in the Senate after passing in the House. This was one of several issues pertaining to Fish and Game this sesson and among the most contentious. F&G restricts ATV use in about a third of its hunting units to lessen conflicts between hunters and make big game less vulnerable to them. But some legislators believe F&G is over-stepping its authority by restricting where and when hunters can use ATVs.

Defeat for Blue Ribbon Coalition

Thank you Idaho Senate for stopping Trail Bike Disneyland.

Best Choice for Quality of Idaho Hunting

Good news, politicians don't follow through with a bad idea. Heartened to hear this.

atv and hunting

Not so sure ATV make game less vulnerable. I think it's the other way around.

Use and ATV- you reduce the chance of baggin something and getting trophies for sur. Easier way to spend the day though.

F & G do not need to be second guessed

Seasonal closures of targeted roads and trails makes sense for ALL vehicles and we didn't need a State Law second guessing the F & G's existing management plans. There are still hundreds of miles of logging roads and areas open to ATV hunters. Pimp has it right the ATV guys most likely just run off any potential game if not used very sensibly.

Enjoy the Ride...there is no return ticket.

Is this over my dead Yamaha?

F& G Management

Since when is the F & G capable of managing anything? After the wolf mess the F & G needs to be cleaned out and rebuilt. They are not completing what they were mandated to do by the legislature. Please ask the governor to replace the current commissioners and the big game managers in all districts. If any other governmental agency was run as sloppy as the F & G there would be changes. They continue to treat wolves as a big game animal when they should be managed as a predator. There should be no tag requirement to shoot a wolf. However since we are stuck with the feds mandating how many wolves in Idaho, there should be a requirement to report a wolf shot so the season could be closed. I am one hunter that will not be purchasing deer and elk tags until there have been significant changes. I invite other hunters to not support the F & G any further.

Do-Nothings serve no meat. Get in gear!
