Idaho candidates: 2nd Congressional District field shrinks

The list of challengers to 2nd Congressional District incumbent Mike Simpson has narrowed, on both sides of the ticket.

Idaho Falls Republican John Baird has withdrawn from the race, leaving Simpson only one GOP challenger on May 15: Chick Heileson of Idaho Falls. Heileson opposed Simpson in the 2010 GOP primary; he finished second in a four-way race, collecting 24 percent of the vote.

On the Democratic side, Eldon Wallace of Boise has left the race, leaving state Sen. Nicole LeFavour of Boise to face perennial candidate Jack Wayne Chappell of Buhl.

One other candiate withdrawal: Middleton Republican Thomas Munds has dropped out of the District 11 state Senate race, leaving incumbent Republican Patti Anne Lodge of Huston to face former lawmaker Maurice Clements of Nampa.

I wonder which issue will be high on LeFavour's ....

list as she runs for congress. Balanced Budget? Jobs? Health Care reform? Defense Spending? Add the Words? Just asking...
We all know she is so much more qualified than Simpson to represent Idaho on these matters. I just hope she doesn't cry when one of her bills does not get out of commitee in next years congress.
