The Boise River through town is flowing more than 800 cfs this week and it gives you an idea what the wave shapers at the Ray Neef M.D. Boise River Park's whitewater section will look like.
On Monday (Feb. 27) this is what the wave looked like going over the larger diversion on the south side of the river. Crews were testing out the wave-shaping diversions over the weekend and boaters were actually surfing the waves.
The Greenbelt is still being rebuilt on the north side of the river near Quinn's Pond.
The Boise Department of Parks and Recreation expects the path to be open in late March.
The path on the Garden City side re-opened last Friday, although, it be closed periodically for minor construction.
The wave is expected to be available for general use in April, depending on water flows.
