If you were watching NBA this weekend on TV, you may have noticed a Boise band’s music during a commercial break. Indie-rockers Finn Riggins were contacted about two weeks ago for permission to use their song ”Blackrock” in a Chicago Bulls promotional spot.
Finn Riggins frontman Eric Gilbert said the group is being paid for use of the music (although not as much as you might think.) Either way, the exposure makes it more than worth it.
“All they had to say was ‘JumboTrons,’ and I was, like, ‘Woah, dream come true!” Gilbert explains with a laugh.
It’s Gilbert’s understanding that the ad campaign will go on for about six months.
