Four (or Five) Things You Should Do This Weekend in Boise

That is, when you’re not sulking about missing out on the 3,000 early-bird Rockstar Mayhem Festival tickets that went on sale this morning. (Actually, about 300 remained when I posted this.)

1. RALLY UP AN APPETITE
Feed those cravings. It’s that time of the month again — I’m talking about the Food Truck Rally! Grub purveyors such as Archie’s Place, B29 StrEATery and Payette Brewing Co. will park at the corner of Chinden Boulevard and Maple Grove Road tonight from 5 to 9 p.m. Whet your appetite with more details here.

2. BANG. YOUR. HEAD.
It’s an insane weekend for metalheads. First, Finnish melodeath force Children of Bodom — fronted by gifted Alexi Laiho, one of Guitar World’s 50 fastest guitarists of all time — will neo-classically fry faces Saturday at the Knitting Factory. Deets here. Assuming your brains haven’t been liquefied, you dedicated headbangers will bounce back the next night for Phoenix-based sci-fi thrash outfit Vektor in a rawer but ferocious performance at The Shredder.

3. BE A DIRTY GIRL (OR BOY)
Edwards 9 Cinemas in Downtown Boise is officially edgier than local art-house theater The Flicks — at least this weekend. The theater is hosting the first NC-17 movie Boise has seen in a looooong time. Explicit or not, critics say that ”Shame,” starring Michael Fassbender, is one heck of a good sex-addict film. Ahem. Buy tickets here. The trailer below is, I'd say, PG-13 or so, so be warned if you click it:

4. DANCE THE NIGHT AWAY
Or at least watch someone else do it. Ballet Idaho takes on Russian music in ”The Firebird” at the BSU Special Events Center today through Sunday. Tickets here. And Trey McIntyre Project pays tribute to Etta James in part of a performance titled “At Last.” It’s twice on Saturday at the Morrison Center. Tickets here.

What is on the plate in No.1? It looks bad.

It's still clunky and the writing is horrible as usual

On the plate?

Who cares? Drink enough PBRs and it won't matter.

Diabetic, can't drink, somebody looks to have eaten my chow!

Now is No.4 Ballet undressing or what?
