Win free tickets to a Boise Contemporary Theater play

Rajiv Joseph’s “Gruesome Playground Injuries” is about two lifelong friends who meet in the nurse’s office of their elementary school when they’re 8. Over the next 30 years, they are brought together by their physical and sometimes emotional injuries.

This beautiful production features Dwayne Blackaller and Lesley Shires, and direction by Maureen Towey.

I’m giving away three pairs of tickets through an email contest. All you have to do is share your best (or worse) playground injury story in 50 words or fewer and email it to me at doland@idahostatesman.com.

BCT managing director Helene Peterson will select the three top stories. The authors will each win two tickets to one of the remaining performances of “Gruesome Playground Injuries,” two beverages of their choice, and as a bonus get their story posted on the BCT website and the ArtsBeat Blog at Voices.IdahoStatesman.com.

Just put BCT contest in the subject line. Make sure to put your full name and daytime phone number in the body of the email so we can contact you.

Submit your stories from now until 5 p.m. Feb. 10.

“Gruesome Playground Injuries”: 8 p.m. Feb. 10-11 and 15-18, and 2 p.m. Feb. 11 and 18, 854 Fulton St. $15-$35 general, $10-$20 ages 25 and younger.
