A group of art activists are bringing the global movement called Inside Out to Boise. French artist JR started the project after winning the 2011 TED Prize, from the folks that produce the TED Talks lecture series.
It grew out of his wish for the world.
"I wish for you to stand up for what you care about by participating in a global at project and together we’ll turn the world inside out," he told the TED audience.
JR's ideas stem from his work creating large scale art installations in developing communities that focus on people. He takes intimate photographs, then blows them up to large scale and pastes them on buildings as a way of drawing attention to those who are overlooked and humanize the community.
The Boise group is looking for people who do jobs that help the community flourish, but that are overlooked and under-appreciated, such as teachers, nurses, mechanics, garbage collectors, construction workers and farmers. Their goal is to reveal the faces of the people who make make the city, state, country and planet a better place.

To nominate someone, send an email to insideoutprojectboise@gmail.com. The group also is looking for donations to pull the project off. It costs $20 for each large scale print.
