Shige Express celebrates grand opening in Meridian

Shige and Deborah Matsuzawa are building a family sushi dynasty in the Treasure Valley. The couple already own Shige Japanese Cuisine, Shige Express and Shige Red Carpet Fine Dining and Shige Japanese Steakhouse in the Capitol Terrace building in Downtown Boise. Recently they opened Shige Teriyaki, 450 S. Meridian Road, suite 15 Meridian.

Now the couple has opened a second Shige Express, also in the Meridian Marketplace, 450 S. Meridian Road, in suite 90 A. It looks to be one of the largest in the area, with 40 seats at the floating bar.

Both Express restaurants feature a floating boat bar that brings $1 sushi to each diner, along with appetizers, desserts and entrees. It also serves a full menu of other choices.

Shige Express Meridian will celebrate its grand opening from 1 to 10 p.m. Feb. 11.

Regular hours will be 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. for lunch, 5 to 9 p.m. for dinner Mondays through Thursdays; and, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. for lunch, 5 to 10 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays. Phone: 922-6436. Online: ShigeJapaneseCuisine.com.

Way to go Shige!

I'm tired of waiting in line outside the Boise Shige Express. Glad to hear that you are opening another express in the valley. Hopefully you are letting Gee manage the new store. He is a great cook.

Shige-san:

Domo arigato gozaimus. Banzai!

Uncooked fish quickly?
