Bogus Basin is giving current season pass holders a deal if they buy next year’s season pass during its Presidents Day Sale, Feb. 20-26.
Bogus Basin's current season started off slowly with a lack of snow and the latest opening on record. Skiers and snowboarders might be hesitant to buy next year's season pass so soon, but the ski area is sweetening the pot.
Current pass holders can get next year’s season pass for $179 and they’ll also get two free skiing passes to take friends skiing.
If you don’t have a season pass, next year’s pass will cost you $199 during the sale, which is Bogus Basin's lowest price.
Bogus Basin officials say the Presidents Day sale price is a way of thanking the community and all season pass holders for their continued support.
A family pass will be $716 for current season pass holders and $800 for non pass holders.
The season passes are for alpine and nordic skiing and prices don’t include tax.
Bogus Basin Mountain Resort announced the pricing Wednesday but you have to wait for the sale.
“We are doing it to thank our pass holders who stuck with us through late December and into January," said Gretchen Anderson, Bogus Basin spokesperson. "We can’t control the weather. But we do realize there was a feeling of being a little short changed and we think this is a good way to make up for it,” she said of the reduction in price for the season pass.
When the season pass sale starts, season passes can be purchased online at bogusbasin.org, by phone at 332-5162 or in person at Bogus Basin Sales Office, 2600 Bogus Basin Road.
Season pass prices will go to $239 (single) and $956 (family) Feb. 27-March 31.

why not
lower the price for those of us who haven't bought a season pass in the last few years as well? i know $200 is a steal considering you can pay it off with well under 10 trips in a year. But I didn't buy a pass last year. I am seriously considering getting one this year, despite the poor snowfall to date. Just seems like they should be equally concerned with gaining new customers as they are with retention. Especially in a year where they have already lost hundreds of thousands, if not millions of dollars.
I figured they would sweeten the deal even more than normal, but I was expecting something along the lines of selling the pass a week or two earlier or else a lower price for everyone. With the deal they are offering now (which is still a great buy), there is no additional incentive compared to years past.
That is nice, ty Bogus but I will have to think about it
Hopefully it will dump on Bogus like last year sometime in the next couple weeks with enough snow to stay open until May?? :P
Stand by your HIll
35 years and counting...some so-so years, but lots of awesome seasons as well. Weather is the Weather, buy your pass...spin the wheel. Bogus is still the best deal around...crowded on the weekends but still 16 miles from town. I sure hope we can get a little more snow this season...groomers can only do so much.
Bandwagon skiers or non-believers will waver on buying a pass...old dogs will click "BUY" the first day. Woof-Woof.
Blame it on the weather
I understand why they feel they should compensate people with a discount, but I really do not think they should do this. The weather is variable, but their annual fixed costs are not. Bogus is not exactly profitable. They barely pay their bills each year because revenue is too low. If we wanted better amenities, we should expect to pay at least the rate of inflation. Find another mountain in the U.S. with comparable facilities and you will also see their pass rates are double to triple the cost of Bogus. I love Bogus and think it is a jewel for our community. Thinking it should take the brunt of the bad weather is not fair for our community to expect. Most people buy a pass because they feel they expect it to save them money. A bad snow year is the risk you take with a pass. Simple as that. I would gladly pay the full amount for the coming year and thank them for replacing Chair 3. Many more improvements would occur if people would appreciate this jewel of a resort. Stop complaining and start appreciating!
