CONTEST OVER: Win free tickets to this weekend's Children of Bodom concert in Boise

Finland's Children of Bodom isn't the sort of heavy-metal band that visits Boise often. After all, these guys are from Scandinavia. The group has never performed in Idaho during its 15-year existence, although keyboardist Janne Wirman tells me they did spend a day off in Boise once.

I'm giving away four tickets to the show Saturday night at the Knitting Factory in Boise: one pair through email, and one pair through Twitter. You can enter both contests, but please only enter the email contest once. (If I notice multiple emails, you're shaking hands with disqualification ...)

EMAIL CONTEST: Between now and 10 a.m. Friday, Feb. 10, correctly answer this question: What was the band called before founder Alexi Laiho changed the name to Children of Bodom? Email the answer to mdeeds@idahostatesman.com. To qualify, you must type the subject line COB in the email. Include your name, please. (Don't worry; I won't keep those. It's just so I can leave the winner's name at will call.) Using a random-number generator, I'll pick an email then respond to that email address with the good news by 5 p.m. Feb. 10. After that, the winner will just show up at the concert Saturday and pick up the tickets at will call.

TWITTER CONTEST: Sometime between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. Friday, Feb. 10, I’ll randomly tweet a Children of Bodom trivia question. The first follower to reply on Twitter with the correct answer wins the tickets.

Warning: There's an f-bomb in the video below. And some ferocious musicianship.
