Trevor Maughan, Middleton: In three victories last week, Maughan averaged 29.3 points to help the Vikings (10-8, 8-6) move up in the 4A SIC standings. On Jan. 31, the 6-foot-1 senior point guard scored 38 points while shooting 12-for-18 from the field, 6-for-8 from 3-point range and 8-for-9 from the free-throw line in a 61-49 win over Nampa. Maughan then scored 28 points on 50-percent shooting from the field and made the game-winning free throw in a 67-66 victory against Bishop Kelly. The senior capped his week with 22 points in a 50-40 win over Skyview.

Leah Bonner, Skyview: The Hawks (17-5) secured a 4A state tournament berth with a pair of wins last week. In the first round of the 4A District Three Tournament on Feb. 1, Bonner had a double-double of 16 points and 17 rebounds along with five steals, four blocked shots and two assists in a 49-37 victory against Mountain Home. The 6-foot sophomore forward then added a game-high 21 points with 12 rebounds, six steals and three assists in a district semifinal win over Bishop Kelly, which avenged two previous losses to the Knights during the regular season.

Andrew Rossow, Boise: The Boise wrestling team earned a victory at the Dick Fleischmann Classic at Pocatello High with the help of Rossow. The senior won the 120-pound individual title and was recognized as one of two outstanding wrestlers at the tournament in a unanimous vote by the participating coaches. Rossow, who won the 112-pound 5A state title as a sophomore, earned a key victory in the team's dual with Pocatello by besting defending 4A state champion (112) Taylor Higbee 12-7 when he reversed Higbee and held him on his back for near fall points late in the third period.
