Five Things You Should Do This Weekend

1. GET FUNKY
Organizers are comparing the Funky Music and Art Fest to a slice of the Hyde Park Street Festival — indoors. Check it out tonight at the Knitting Factory with bands such as the Scott Pemberton Trio, Boise’s Phantasmagoria and more.

2. RAP AT REEF
Saturday’s show by the members of Souls of Mischief and other members of the Hieroglyphics Crew should pump the energy level through the roof at The Reef on Saturday. The funky, Bay Area beats will flow hard and heavy.

3. WITNESS ADVENTURE
Outdoor action films will hit the screen at the Egyptian Theatre during the Banff Mountain Film Festival. It kicks off Sunday and runs through Tuesday. Get tickets here.

4. FEED YOUR FUNNY BONE
Uh-oh, where’s the NoDoz? Daisy’s Madhouse Theatre is doing another “Will Act 4 Food” performance Saturday. That means a group of local actors, directors and writers will get together, create plays and get them onstage within 24 hours. Do they sleep? It doesn’t matter. It’s wacky, fun stuff. Tickets here.

5. HIT THE CARNIVAL
It's the final weekend for the McCall Winter Carnival. If you don't go for the sculptures, the parades and the fireworks, go for the BEER today and Saturday! All the Carnival details are in a four-page pullout section in today's Scene magazine.
