Fish and Game changes upland game season dates, possession limits and chukar limits

Fish and Game commissioners on Thursday, Jan. 26 set upland seasons and the chukar, partridge and quail opening date will be the third Saturday in September, which this year will be Sept. 13. They also set the bag limit to eight chukars, and increased the possession limit for all upland birds to three times the daily bag limit, up from two times.

Commissioners changed fall turkey hunts in Southwest Idaho from a general season to two controlled hunts, one with 20 permits in Unit 31 and 125 permits available for controlled hunt in units 22, 32 and 32A. Except for minor changes, most other upland game rules will be similar to 2010.
