Boise State hired Tampa Bay Buccaneers defensive backs coach Jimmy Lake to coach defensive backs and be the Broncos' defensive passing game coordinator, the school announced on Twitter. He replaces Marcel Yates, who left for Texas A&M.

“Jimmy (Lake) brings a lot of experience and knowledge to our program,” Boise State coach Chris Petersen said in a statement released by the school. “He is an awesome person and the players are going to love playing for him.”

Lake has been in the NFL since 2006 coaching with Tampa Bay (2006-07 and 2010-11) and Detroit (2008). He also worked at Montana State as the defensive backs coach when current Boise State defensive coordinator Pete Kwiatkowski was the school's defensive coordinator.

Lake also coached at Washington and Eastern Washington, where he played strong safety and earned honorable mention All-Big Sky honors and was also an All-Big Sky Academic selection. Lake graduated in 2000 with a degree in business administration.

I wonder..

If Jimmy likes his kung pao spicy?

He looks more like

a General Tsao kind of guy

Nice

Addition!

Hey Murph

Once they announce Andy, that's it right?

§ There's your wide net.

Diana and I win.

"34c"

So

So now we have another foolball coach, so what's this useless one going to cost, I notice the article left his salary out of the story

"We"?

Dude there is no "we" with you and Boise State.

'foolball' is something you

'foolball' is something you play, obviously.

Here's the So...

Actually, this is another good hire to fill in our depleted coaching staff that gets raided every year because of Boise State's reputation in coaching hires. You see, these big AQ schools that take our assistant coaches are following an easy path where they don't have to do their own due diligence in finding excellent young coaches. They simply rely on Coach Pete to do their job for them. Just like you desperately need to find someone to rely on.

less than akey

and he will do a better job.

Remember what I said about "dearth"? Shinola946 here isn't even on the board.

Oh Yea........

BTW, I think I found one of the very few pictures ever taken of him

§ Can believe that.

He could polish his blkshoes with his head.

Defensive game coordinator:

That is a new one.Chris Petersen you are allowed only nine assistant coaches-per NCAA-so try not to make more mistakes-Bob will be irked.

That's

"defensive passing game coordinator", I believe Pete K. is the DC. Nice, however, that they both go back to Montana State. The Montana and Montana State connections have served the Broncos well.

Navy will join the Big EAST 2015:

Statesman never reports any news till they have permission to do so.

Jimmy Lake

Great guy & great coach! Remember him from EWU, UW + his success at Montana State; players respect him a great deal! BSU got a good one!

Welcome to BSU Jimmy

Good hire, sure coach Pete K. recommended him and thats good enough for me.
I like, I like.

I think you will all like Jonathan Smith, too. He was fantastic at Oregon State. Had to walk on then started four years in a row. A right handed Kellen Moore as far as being a winner. Tough as nails. Will be great for our (BSU) qb's. Particularly N. Patti. Great hire, will be OC at BSU someday.
