The Idaho Statesman will provide live updates after each quarter from Thursday's Skyview at Kuna boys basketball game.
Skyview (8-4, 5-3 4A SIC), Middleton (7-5, 5-3) and Kuna (6-6, 5-3) are tied for second in the 4A Southern Idaho Conference behind Bishop Kelly (9-3, 7-1).
Kuna beat Skyview 50-35 in the conference opener for both teams on Dec. 8.
FIRST QUARTER: KUNA 18, SKYVIEW 9
Kuna post Tyler Dubowsky contributed eight points — including two 3-pointers — to give the Kavemen a comfortable lead heading into the second quarter.
SECOND QUARTER: KUNA 27, SKYVIEW 15
After Kuna started the first quarter shooting 61.5 percent from the field, that percentage dropped a bit in the second quarter, but not by much. The biggest and tallest player on the court — the 6-foot-6 Dubowsky — continued his hot streak from 3-point range. Dubowsky went 3-for-3 from beyond the arc in the first half and led all scorers with 11 points. Skyview could be much closer, but the Hawks shot just 20 percent from the field, including only 11.1 percent from 3-point range.
THIRD QUARTER: KUNA 52, SKYVIEW 27
Kuna's hot shooting continued in the third quarter. The Kavemen shot a whopping 78.6 percent from the field to amass a 25-point lead heading into the final frame.
FOURTH QUARTER: KUNA 67, SKYVIEW 44
Tyler Dubowsky led four Kuna players in double figures with 21 points. Kyle Hoch and Steven Doughty each added 11 points and James Simmons had 10. Skyview was paced by Lane Robbins with nine points and seven rebounds.
