Going into Tuesday's game, Middleton sits atop the 4A Southern Idaho Conference with a 12-0 league record, while Bishop Kelly is tied for second with Skyview at 10-2. (BK owns the tiebreaker over Skyview since it swept the Hawks this season). Counting Tuesday's games, each team has four games remaining in the regular season.
FIRST QUARTER: MIDDLETON 7, BISHOP KELLY 4
After both teams played tough defense in the first frame, Middleton comes away with the slim lead. Middleton sophomore post D'Rae Tullock leads all scorers with three points.
SECOND QUARTER: MIDDLETON 23, BISHOP KELLY 10
Middleton took control of the game in the second quarter, scoring 13 unanswered points. Bishop Kelly scored its first basket of the second quarter on a drive by senior forward Randi McReynolds. Bishop Kelly's Abby Talboy completed a rare four-point play when she was fouled on a made 3-pointer and then converted on the ensuing free throw with 10.2 seconds to play before the break. Middleton's Tullock continues to lead all scorers with 11 points.
THIRD QUARTER: MIDDLETON 37, BISHOP KELLY 20
The Vikings maintained their double-digit lead, but the Knights started to find their rhythm near the end of the third quarter.
FOURTH QUARTER: MIDDLETON 49, BISHOP KELLY 29
Middleton's D'Rae Tullock led all scorers with 15 points. Bishop Kelly got eight points apiece from Randi McReynolds and Abby Talboy.
