Christmas Present

Canadian Lyne Bessette leads a breakaway group of six riders through a corner during the 2001 Statehouse Criterium.

Idaho cycling fans got an early Christmas present today when Exergy Development Group announced the Exergy Tour. The tour, which will showcase American's top women cyclist, is scheduled for May 24-28, 2012 in the Treasure Valley. According to it's website, the tour will consist of five stages over five days. The date of the tour will also play a critical role in the cycling calendar for riders looking for qualifying points for the London Olympics. The Exergy Tour will bring women's stage racing back to Idaho for the first time since 2002 when the Women's Challenge ended it's 18 year run.

As a longtime fan of the race I've created a website with some of my images.

Enjoy the walk down memory lane.
