The Boise State football team will be chasing college football history Thursday when it faces Arizona State in the MAACO Bowl Las Vegas.

With a win, the Broncos would become the first program in the Football Bowl Subdivision to win at least 12 games in four straight seasons and the senior class would become the first to win 50 games.

Two senior classes have won 49 games — Boise State’s 2009 class (49-4) and Nebraska’s 1997 class (49-2).

The Broncos’ current seniors are 49-3.

The only other teams with three straight 12-win seasons are USC (2003-05) and Oklahoma (2002-04).

“It says something about our program and where our priorities are at,” Potter said. “I’m just proud of those guys. It’s an awesome day.”

Hey Chadd

What was Bryan Johson's degree?

And where did he get it?

And where did he get it? BSU?

Bryan Johnson

I added it above...and it's from Boise State.

OK

Business management.

Communications

What exactly does a degree in Communications mean? I don't mean to make this sound snarky, but what sorts of careers might one pursue?

Effective

communication is an important part of any business or corporation, and those with excellent communication skills and training are highly valued in the workplace. Communication covers a wide spectrum of skills, from verbal and written communication to effective presentation skills and the ability to liase with authority figures. Although many aspects of business in the corporate world change on a regular basis, such as technology and business methods, one aspect that doesn’t change is the need to have effective communicators in the workplace in order to assist in the smooth running of the organization.

This is why possessing a communications degree can really benefit you when it comes to entering and progressing in a successful career within an organization. We are always communicating in some way while at work, whether with colleagues and managers or with customers and external agencies. Communication can be via phone, letter, and in person, and being able to get your message across effectively can make a big difference to the outcome of a situation. A communication degree covers many different areas of communication, enabling you to enter your chosen career with confidence.

There is no particular career in which you have to be interested in order to benefit from a communications degree. This type of degree can be applied in practically any work environment, because communication is important in all businesses. A communication degree is a good, solid qualification to graduate with, and could help you to secure a job in any number of areas. Prospective employers will look at your ability, skills, and training in communications favorably, giving you an edge over applicants without such qualifications.

There are many areas of communication that may be covered as part of a communication degree. These include communication theory, interpersonal communications, legal communication, social interaction, language, health communication, international communication, gender communication, applied communication, and communication education.

Very eloquent response slcbronco!

Very eloquent response slcbronco!

slcbronco....that was not

eloquent....it was ramble on gibberish....

Communications is going internet and smart phones....radio and tv on way out....

But I guess if someone wants to major in communications in todays job market, then sobeit....

we can always count on you...

... to put the positive and uplifting spin on everything. Why don't you go drown in your own vomit?

Its just an easy degree.

Its just an easy degree. Perfect for guys that are in college primarily to play football rather than to get an education.

Excellent!

He'd work well here, seeing how we have to manage folks business in every thread.

Jarell Root

From one English Major to another, welcome to the tradition. You won't have an easy time finding a job, but when you do you will be able to write better than any of your colleagues. Cheers!

Awesome board meeting today...

Thanks to everyone that came. Great discussions as always.

For those of you that have yet to brave a board meeting, you're missing out. Good food, good people... lots of Bronco talk and plenty of toasts.

Dex, that burger was pretty good.

Missed ya B81.

BBM#7

Ω Yep, it was great.

First off, congrats to all the Bronco football players who earned their degrees today. Nice to see Bryan Johnson among them.

Secondly, today's meeting was fun. Lots to kick around with the bowl games upcoming and transition in BSU's future. It's always great to learn things from others who know a thing or two about football and sometimes get info that you wouldn't learn otherwise.

We definitely need to expand the group.

Toasts today to Wiz and 81. No, 81, you didn't get roasted. OMikey, you are next.

BBM #24

Thank you for returning, Omegaman.

Everybody wants to hue the knurled

Enjoyed it thouroughly

Good food and great company. It's always good for me to be able to glean from the football knowledge of this group.

Glad you liked the burger JL.

BBM# 15 and fellow 4-D thinker.

Fun time indeed

Let's have one in January to discuss the bowl season, bsu recruiting, and how we can trick more Vandals into paying for stuff!

BBM #008

i am sure a good time was had. do i get a bbm# or am i 81 by default?

Ω Good time, for sure

BBM #81 it is.

What do we give OMikey? BBM #3.14159 (pi)?

BBM #24

5 years

It takes most of them 5 years to get their degree in thumb sucking or finger painting, college is for an education, ban sports from state run schools, we would save a bundle

"We would" ???? Huh?

Whos "we"? Do you mean the "average tax-paying citizen"?

If so, I think theres something tfunk may want to show you.

Ω JL

We must be certain to reject/filter all idiots, naysayers, and Common Vandal Antagonists from future meetings.

BBM #24 (on the way to 5D)

college is for a degree

And hopefully that degree helps you to earn a living and become a productive member of society. An educationn is something you should be obtaining and contributing to your whole life.

Yes razor

Especially them "idots" (SIC on purpose you spelling posers).

TBK, maybe we can ask Mitch B. how to use our "Jedi mind tricks" for even more dirty dirty cash...

Forget the 3d 4d etc...start seeing at night, like a cat, and a whole new world opens up for you. It starts with the cat food. The wet stuff. Spreads easy on crackers.

BBM#7

Ω Aren't cats like LIONS?

Will they eat dry dog food?

Crackers ... good one.

Go Broncos and down with Common Vandal Antagonists

BBM #24

jedi mind tricks aren't needed -expansion won't cost us anything

Or was it my new BBM membership that helped me see it that way?

BBM #24

Dudes on the BBM Club....Are you sure?

I looked it up....

BBM stands for according to a site found:

Blubber-Butt Men

It said, 'We are a group of Men proud of the Wide-Load that we carry'....and their motto, according to website, 'We Aint Paying NO Airlines for Two Seats'....

Membership fees are nothing because we dont donate nothing anyway....

Dudes, if this is your group then Congrads....its about time somone spoke up for the BBM!!!!!!

You've already said it and it wasnt funny the first time.

But I love the spirit ugs. Keep up the good fight.

Ω Makes it easy ...

... when you flush yourself right into the filter.

"Congrads" to you.

BBM #24

Go Broncos and flush the Common Vandal Antagonists

That's a different but similar club Ugs

their moto is 'We Aint Paying NO Airlines for Two Seats'....

our motto is 'We Aint Paying NO University for New Seats'....

If we have it our way, BSU will be breaking ground on their new Matthew Lesko Football Complex any day now

BBM #008

Why would anyone want

to demean a college kid (in any way) who gets a degree? How freaking petty can you get.

Congratulation to these young men for their dedication, both on the field of play as well as in the classroom.

Hey gang

I'm having a hard time getting my BBM number....the dang website won't take my credit card for some reason........

B43

You need to select your level of membership first. Eg, patty melt level, peanut butter burger level, etc.

BBM member #015 peanut butter burger level.

BBM #43

VNDL....

Did you invite VNDL at this meeting?

I do not recall any postings to the BBM meeting....

As for Ugly, I shall retain my interests towards successful projects and successful people....

At your first meeting, did a Vandal pick up the tab?

Ω The BBM ...

BBM #24

Go Broncos and woe to the Common Vandal Antagonists

No Vandal,

But a LION picked up the tab today.

Tip of the cap to you JL

I threw out a few

taro cards....

Keep day job ugly

JL is the furthest thing from a Vandal or even a Vandal fan.

That sounds like a mighty long drive for toilet paper...
