Former Treasure Valley prep athletes: Where are they now?

From time to time I like to check in on some of the Treasure Valley's high school sports stars from years past. In the last few days I have received some emails regarding former stars who have had articles written about them by other media outlets. Here are those links:

Eric Dzwilewski, Centennial: On Monday, Dzwilewski was named the Canada West Offensive Player of the Week for his performance in Calgary's 62-13 win over British Columbia in the Hardy Cup. On Wednesday, the quarterback was named the Canadian National Player of the Week. Here is a link to that story here. This Friday, Calgary plays the University of Laval in one of two national semifinal games. The winners of each semifinal go on to the national championship, which is Nov. 25 at the BC Place Stadium in British Columbia.

Ana Overgaard, Weiser: The University of Idaho women's basketball walk-on was recently recognized in a story by the Spokesman-Review, as she earned a scholarship with the Vandals' squad. Read the article here.

Kasen Covington, Capital: The 2010 Capital graduate had an impressive freshman season for the Washington track and field team. He broke the freshman triple jump record, going 50-8 ¼ in his first meet at the UW Invitational indoors, which is also second indoors on the UW top-10 list. He qualified for the NCAA West Prelim Championships outdoors, placing 32nd overall and took sixth in the triple jump at his first Pac-10 Championships, jumping 49-11 ¾, a mark that ranks ninth outdoors in school history. His outdoor best was a wind-aided 51-0 to place third at the Oregon Relays.

Way to go Kasen...

...sounds like you didn't miss a beat. Good luck the rest of the way!!!

Right now, on the road home for dinner, I'd think...
