Joy in Basqueville: US-based Basque news network hails re-election of Boise's Bieter

EITB, the Basque Country's media outlet in the US, is touting the re-election of the only Basque-speaking mayor in the country, Dave Bieter.

"He is one of the people responsible for strengthening relations between Boise and the Basque Country, and Basque culture in Boise has gone from strength to strength during the last decade," says the says the EITB website.

Basque Radio Television, or Euskal Irrati Telebista, was in Boise last year to cover the visit of the Basque President Francisco Javier "Patxi" Lopez Alvarez.
