Former Treasure Valley prep athletes: Where are they now?

From time to time I like to check in on some of the Treasure Valley's high school sports stars from years past. Here is an update on four such stars:

Sofia Huerta, Centennial: The 2011 graduate is just beginning her freshman season with the No. 11-ranked Santa Clara women's soccer team, but she's already making an impact. Huerta was named the West Coast Conference's player of the week recently after she netted a hat trick and one assist in the Broncos' 5-0 win against San Diego State on Oct. 2. It was the first hat trick for the Broncos since 2003. Huerta ranks second on the team with five goals and one assist for 11 points.

Brittany Hewitt, Eagle: Hewitt is in the midst of her junior season with the Hawaii women's volleyball team, which currently ranks No. 9 in the nation at 15-1 overall and 5-0 in the Western Athletic Conference. The 6-foot-3 middle blocker leads the team with 78 blocks and has contributed 114 kills with a kill percentage of .384.

Jordin Juker, Boise: The 2010 graduate will open her sophomore season with the Brown women's basketball team on Nov. 11. The 6-foot forward, who was the 2010 5A All-Idaho Player of the Year, played in 22 games for the Brown Bears last season, with a high of seven points, two rebounds, one assist and one steal against UMBC.

Eric Dzwilewski, Centennial: In his second season at quarterback for the University of Calgary, Dzwilewski has helped the Dinos get off to a 5-0 start by completing 77-of-128 passes for 1,031 yards, 10 touchdowns and just three interceptions. Calgary is ranked No. 3 in Canada. The university recently published an article about Dzwilewski in their alumni magazine. Read that article here.
