Looking at a yellow jacket up close without worrying about getting bitten is kind of cool.
You can look right in its face and watch its habits. Same thing with spiders and other bugs. It's kind of creepy but fun. I got my grandkids each a Uncle Milton Bug Jug Live Insect Viewer, and while I wasn't sure they would go over well, they were actually a big hit.
We had one on a recent camping trip and the youngster spent the whole time looking for bugs. It was kind of fun and a good way to get the kid interested in the environment and nature.
The Bug Jug is shaped like a dome and has plenty of room for the insects. It has air holes and a port where you put the bugs in. It also has a little bug catcher that makes it easy to get an insect and transport it to the Bug Jug.
It's definitely a fun thing to get kids interested in nature.
