Eagle High quarterback Tanner Mangum, a BYU commitment, impressed some observers at The Opening, an elite player football camp held on Nike's campus last week.
ESPN talked to Mangum for its recap of the event, while CBSSports.com did a full note on Mangum.
CBSSports.com named Mangum one of the top offensive performers at the camp.
Mangum and Boise State commitment Nick Patti will participate in ESPN Rise's Elite 11 July 18-22 in Malibu, Calif.
WAC expansion — again
• The WAC is apparently expanding — again. The league is poised to add UT-Arlington this week, according to multiple reports. The Mavericks don't have a football program, but may be trying to add one.
Here is the story from Yahoo that sums up the development.

Ω Who's the shrimp?
Actually, just got back from the biggest tournament on the west coast.
BSU has signed both of these "girls" and I have purchased a couple of city blocks of season tickets to watch them "romp" over the MWC.
You, JL, Wiz, 81, P2, tfunk, OMilkey, and crew have free reign (or "rain", if in Paqfunk mode) on the sidelines. ugly is DNQ unless he plunks down another $150.
ps - The shorter of the two has entered into a special "training" regimen under my tutelage. She's coming along nicely. The taller one fits the old Mounds bar description, no?
ALMOND JOY has...and Mounds don't.

Tyler Mangum
I onlly got to watch him for two games at the passing tournament. But wow! What an arm! He is and is going to be something special. Coudos to his parents. Not only is he going to be a great football player, but a man with morals and integrity. Qualities hard pressed to find in the student athlete these days. It all starts at home baby!

He's playing for BYU and will have a mission first. no?
There is no real certainty that he will be able to do much of anything and we'll never even play against him. Please curb your enthusiasm. There are too many stupid things that can happen before he could see the BYU field.
