Signing off: Jesse Zentz

This is my last post on the Varsity Extra blog and tomorrow's story about Middleton's 4A girls basketball state championship will be my final story in the Idaho Statesman.

I have accepted the position of sports editor at the Helena Independent Record in Montana and will move there next week.

It has been a pleasure serving the Treasure Valley high school sports scene since I arrived here eight years ago. In six years with the Statesman, I had the privilege of working with some great journalists, athletes, parents, administrators and officials, and wish you all well. I will continue to follow the Idaho sports scene from afar for years to come.

While Montana is my home — I was born and raised there — Idaho will always be close to my heart. My wife and I started our family here and we're all better for it. My two daughters, and my wife and I will be sure to visit the Gem State often.

Best wishes,

Jesse Zentz

P.S. Thank you Middleton girls basketball for sending me off proper and congratulations on a fantastic season.

Thanks Jesse and have a great time!
