'Coke Rewards' points help Toys for Tots; Walmart to give $1 million

The Coca-Cola Company has a new program that lets people donate their My Coke Rewards points to Toys for Tots, and kids across the U.S. Check it out online.

Also on the corporate front, Walmart is providing an opportunity for Boise-Nampa metro area "fans" to support their region to receive up to a $1 million grant for hunger relief this holiday season in a Facebook campaign.

Through Dec. 31, people can cast their vote online and choose from a list of 100 communities where hunger rates are the highest.

The community with the most online support will receive $1 million in grants and the next five communities with the highest support will receive $100,000 each to help fight hunger.

How is the local community doing so far? As of Dec. 14, the Boise-Nampa area region is ranked 48th. Salt Lake City is ranked 18th, and Portland is ranked 10th. Fresno, California is currently in first place.

And people still bad-mouth Walmart!

We'll continue to shop there!

I'm not going to register to check stupid bottle caps AT ALL.
