ESPN expert says Kyle Wilson could jump to first round; Idaho's Iupati impressing, too; defensive end commits

ESPN analyst Todd McShay said on Wednesday morning's SportsCenter that former Boise State cornerback Kyle Wilson has made the biggest splash of any player during Senior Bowl practices.
In fact, McShay says Wilson is now his third-rated cornerback — and might be a first-round pick.
"There's always questions when you don't play in one of the big six conferences — is this skill guy as good as he appears to be on film," McShay said from Mobile, Ala., site of the Senior Bowl. "He's proven it here against very good wide receivers. He's quick. He's fluid turning and running. He's instinctive. And he also has that extra element in the return game that he provides.
"Kyle Wilson, in a year that cornerbacks are not necessarily very strong at the top ... has risen to the top of the seniors and should be among the top three or four cornerbacks drafted, maybe as high as the first round."
The only corners McShay listed ahead of Wilson — underclassmen Joe Haden of Florida and Kareem Jackson of Alabama.
Meanwhile, the Detroit Free Press reports that Wilson is giving the North team's wide receivers fits in practice. Detroit Lions wide receivers coach Shawn Jefferson called him a pain in the rear, according to the Detroit Free Press. The Lions coaching staff is leading the North team.

Idaho guard Mike Iupati also is making noise in Mobile. The Detroit Lions coaching staff has raved about him.
"I think the one thing that scouts wanted to see ... is when you step up to this level and you're going against guys who are maybe from bigger conferences, there's not a whole lot of adjustment period," Lions coach Jim Schwartz told the Detroit Free Press. "I think that's what we saw with Mike in the last couple days. He's right at home playing against these other guys that are the best players in the country."
Iupati is considered a late first- or early second-round pick.

Mountain View High defensive end Tyler Horn last weekend committed to grayshirt and join Boise State in 2011. Read more in the Varsity Extra blog.
Horn gives the Broncos seven known commitments, including two who will grayshirt. The Broncos have five scholarship openings for 2010.

Eastern Washington plans to install red turf when it replaces its grass football field. The school colors are red and white.

Right
Like Ryan Clady, who is is a 1st team all-pro in his second year in the NFL, and was runner-up for rookie of the year last year, as an offensive lineman. Great observation.

Way to go Wilson.
WOW Eastern Washington, okie dokie.

There is nothing wrong with the WAC that Boise State is not taking care of. Don't forget when BYU won their National Championship they too were in the WAC. Thus if Boise State even gets a shot at it how many big time BCS conferences do you think can match that? If they don't, that has nothing to do with the WAC.
"I second that emotion" WTG Wilson
AS for the Eagles of EWU> Right on! Cheney's Eastern Washington is a fine college, with good coaching and some really nice kids.
There is nothing that says football needs to be played on a green field. Back in the day they use to play on dirt and in the mud, no grass stains there. When I was kid we played our games on cement streets. That's a gray field nit wit and the only stains you get there is blood stains. What ya gonna do?
The BCS didn't exist when BYU won the NC
Just say'n
Another great article Chad

As a transplant I have to say I am impressed with the Broncos. They have as many BCS Bowl victories as Michigan, Penn State, and Alabama combined.
And I have personally talked with personnel at one NFL team that says they are interested in Wilson. However, due to me wanting my friend to keep their job, I won't say which one.
Hey Idiot Weisberg
With your theory, how do you explain Ryan Clady, WAC player, BSU player, leaves after Junior year to first round and then All Pro after second year?

I'd try to answer one of your posts if I understood what you're saying. Sorry dude.
Right
Because Big XII champion Oklahoma wasn't a "real" team in the 2007 Fiesta bowl, and Pac 10 champion Oregon wasn't a "real" team this year. Truly inspired observations. The Broncos are 4-1 vs BCS-AQ teams under Chris Petersen, with all 4 wins coming against teams that finished the year ranked, 3 ranked in the top 11, and 2 were BCS-AQ conference champions. They have also beaten TCU and Utah in that span of time. You are right. They never play "real" teams.
