BOYS BASKETBALL
Terrell Rowe, Skyview: The senior played a major role in two more Skyview victories last week. At Mountain Home on Tuesday, he led the team with 16 points and added three steals, three rebounds and two assists. He also finished that game 10-of-12 from the free-throw line. In a home game against Emmett on Friday, Rowe had 14 points, five rebounds, two steals and four assists. Skyview (13-1, 8-0 4A SIC) hosts Middleton on Friday and visits Nampa on Saturday. Both games tip off at 7:30 p.m.
GIRLS BASKETBALL
Lacey Young, Middleton: Young shot 3-for-3 from 3-point range and scored a game-high 13 points in a Saturday victory against Nampa, and paced the Vikings with 11 points in a Thursday win against Bishop Kelly. Middleton (17-1, 12-0 4A SIC), which wrapped up the conference title with Saturday win, visit Kuna at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday and close out the regular season at 7:30 p.m. Thursday at Columbia.
WRESTLING
Holden Packard, Mountain View: The Mavericks senior collected his second major invitational championship this month with a victory at the Tiger-Grizz Invitational in Idaho Falls on Saturday. Packard — the 2009 state champion at 130 pounds — beat Borah's Taylor West — the 125-pound state runner-up from 2009 — in the championship match.

And STILL You Continue to Ignore Craig Spjute...
...from Borah. Check his stats. He scored 33 points in their last game and is consistently their top scorer, and at time tops in other areas.
If I am mistaken, and have simply missed your mention of him here, then I apologize. If not, and you haven't mentioned him, then get with the program!
Craig Spjute
Caldwell at Borah: Craig Spjute 33
Borah at Boise: Craig Spjute 29
Vallivue at Borah: Craig Spjute 26
Borah at Timberline: Craig Spjute 18 Assist leaders: Spjute 2
Borah at Rocky Mountain: Craig Spjute 28 points
That is 26.8 points per game average for just these last five games!
Most of the Borah stats available do not include assist leaders or rebound leaders...or I'd have more to post on him.
Craig is a great kid, a good leader and a good example. I say if anyone deserves to be the Varsity Extra Athlete of the week, it is Craig.
So adopt him if you're the soccer mom.

I Hate to Say It...
...because I used to be a fan of yours, but you are quickly becoming impotent to these forums.
I have enough children of my own that I don't need to adopt Craig. He has a wonderful family already...but that really wasn't your point, was it?
You, however, feel free to just blitz ignorant comment after ignorant comment out on these forums, further nullifying your credibility.
Enough is enough,dude.
Not That I am Saying Terrell Rowe...
...doesn't deserve it. I am sure he does. My point is that Craig has been ignored up to this point despite his excellent stats/play.
Don't try to redirect your own crap. Regards...

Spjute
Last week's omission of Craig Spjute was an oversight on my part. This week's decision came down to a couple factors: No. 1, I do take nominations from fans into account and I didn't receive any for Spjute. No. 2, Borah played only one game last week, and it was against a team with 1 win all season. I am impressed with what Spjute has accomplished so far this season and I am planning to do something in-depth on him next month. If you feel he deserves athlete of the week recognition next week, please send me a nomination at jzentz@idahostatesman.com.
Thanks, Jesse.
I did not realize that fans could nominate or I would have done it much sooner.
I suppose I am just frustrated with Borah being ignored a lot of the time. Just because we are not undefeated, or nearly so, does not mean we don't have some great talent. :-)
I agree
I have great respect for coach Cada and the Lions. I do my best to spread the love, but with 40+ schools in our coverage area, that can be a bit tough sometimes. Thank you for your comments and interest in high school sports.
