At the website for The Common Interest, a nonpartisan good-government group headed by newly announced Democratic gubernatorial candidate Keith Allred, a page is devoted to testimonials from Idaho politicos.
Guess who's first on the list?
"The Common Interest already has proven itself to be a valuable resource on issues of public policy," says Republican Gov. Butch Otter. "There is an important place in any public policy discussion for a well-researched, facts-based voice of reason. We may not always agree, but the essence of sound public policy is open discussion and constructive disagreement that leads to better ways of empowering individuals and communities to succeed."
Do you think that quote might wind up in a campaign ad or flier sometime?

stronger irony
I think it's more ironic that someone aligns with the Demcratic party (or either party for that matter) when they are currently the leadership of a "non-partisan" group. --maybe ironic is not the correct word though.
Why not run as an "independant"?
He might be allRED but it sounds more like a chameleon.

Considering his CommonInterest site is way outdated and weak on solutions to the problems.... not soo good. Looks pretty easy to pick apart his 'nonpartisan' group of 1,500 members.... I think Calvary Chapel has at least that many members.
Common Interest = Common Cause with a slightly different twist
I do think Common Interest has done a fairly good job of presenting all sides of an issue, but now that Allred has turned Allblue, they may be facing the same fate as Common Cause of Idaho did.
The media says their "non-partisan" too- but they vote 90% Dem
How is a democrat going to win in Idaho in this political enviroment when one can't even defend in New Jersey?
New Jersey's been tough since Frank Sinatra died.
