Keith Allred, a former Harvard public policy professor, a cutting horse competitor and native Idahoan is expected to step up to be a Democratic candidate for Idaho governor.
Allred, of Eagle, is the director of the nonpartisan good-government group The Common Interest who is well known in the Idaho Legislature. Jill Kuraitis of NewWest.com broke the story Wednesday night.
Betty Richardson, confirmed Thursday that Allred will seek the nomination and provide the party with a worthy challenger to Idaho Republican Gov. Butch Otter.
Here's what she told Democrats Wednesday:
"I know you've all been hoping that we would be able to identify a real leader, someone with ability and vision who will not only make a great gubernatorial candidate, but who will make an outstanding Governor.
"I am very pleased to report that such an individual is preparing to step forward and offer Idahoans a clear choice in the 2010 election. Of course, we'll have to wait for the primary election to see how this all shakes out, but I am absolutely thrilled that at least one candidate will be running who has the intelligence, integrity, energy and experience to run a winning campaign and, once inaugurated, truly transform state government."

What disrupts news stories? When an individual or a group of same mindless individuals take it upon themselves to make personal attacks. Using juvenile vulgar insinuations in attempt to discredit others points of view.
Liberal is supposed to represent and acceptance and understanding encompassing views. It is really too bad that some choose to discredit that definition of the title ‘liberal.’ If they are claiming no affiliation they are just rude inconsiderate people.
Such childlike displays only serve to take away from the news story. And shows the world they writers are starved for attention even at the risk of looking stupid. Some humor if kept clean is a nice touch. When it starts with vulgar insinuations and personal attacks it is out of line for young readers and ladies.
We are pleased to see this papers administration taking appropriate measures to delete and remove them.
