Boise State sophomore slot receiver Tyler Shoemaker will be out at least until the Broncos’ bowl game because of hernia surgery, the school announced Friday. Shoemaker didn’t make the trip to Logan.

True freshman Kirby Moore replaces Shoemaker as the starting slot receiver, which is the No. 3 wide receiver.

Shoemaker was injured in last week’s game against Idaho. He is tied for third on the team with 21 catches for 345 yards and two touchdowns.

Moore has eight catches for 105 yards and a touchdown.

Too bad for Shoe

I'm excited for Kirby though.

A bowl game with a hernia?

That's what the headline said.

Coincidence?

That would be the third 'season ending' injury from the Idaho game.

Chadd,

Have you heard about this? A writer for the Omaha newspaper is reporting that Nebraska and Boise State are in preliminary discussions for a future series, but not necessarily starting in 2011. He also speculates that games could possibly be played at an NFL stadium such as the Dallas Cowboys or at Denver's mile high Invesco field. Sounds good...

Shoemaker and Ioka

Too bad about shoemaker...we could definitely use him next weekend. Hopefully he's back for a bowl game! What is the status on George Ioka? I saw them checking his ACL when he was injured against the Aggies-That would suck...certainly dont want that. He hasnt had any big plays lately, but he is defintitely a playmaker.
