8:59 p.m. — Capital 38, Highland 3: Charlie McMartin scored his fifth touchdown on a 33-yard run with 10:28 remaining in the game. His rushing total is 18 carries for 154 yards. Quarterback Jeremy Powers has rushed eight times for 110 yards.
8:50 p.m. — End of third quarter: Capital 31, Highland 3
8:42 p.m. — Capital 31, Highland 3: Charlie McMartin is on a roll. The senior running back scored his fourth touchdown on a 1-yard run with 5:19 remaining in the first quarter. He has 16 carries for 124 yards to lead the Eagles.
8:37 p.m. — Capital 24, Highland 3: After a punt of minus-six yards by Highland, Capital took over at its own 48-yard line and needed runs of 28 and 24 yards by Charlie McMartin gave the Eagles a 21-point lead. They followed that by recovering a fumble on the ensuing kickoff return at Highland's 30-yard line. 6:42 remaining in the third quarter.
8:07 p.m. — Halftime: Capital 17, Highland 3
Capital is on the verge of taking complete control, but Highland will get the ball to start the second half, giving the Rams a chance to get some momentum in the second half. Highland can't figure out Capital's defense, rushing for 30 yards and passing for 80 in the first half. Capital, meanwhile, has rushed for 172 yards and passed for 87.
8:05 p.m. — Capital 17, Highland 3: It didn't take the Eagles long to respond to Highland's first score as they marched 76 yards in 2:22, capped by a 5-yard TD run by Charlie McMartin — his second score tonight. 26 seconds remain in the second quarter.
7:55 p.m. — Capital 10, Highland 3: The Rams took advantage of a roughing-the-passer penalty that negated an interception return by Capital's Kasen Covington and got on the scoreboard with a 25-yard field goal by Paul Muzzo. 2:55 remains in the second quarter.
7:36 p.m. — Capital 10, Highland 0: The Eagles capped a 51-yard drive with a 22-yard field goal by Eric Niblett to extend the lead early in the second quarter. 8:52 remains in the first half.
7:30 p.m. — End of first quarter: Capital 7, Highland 0
7:24 p.m. — Capital 7, Highland 0: The Eagles marched 80 yards in six plays to score the first points on a 12-yard run by senior Charlie McMartin. 2:24 remains in the first quarter.
7:20 p.m. — Both teams failed to score on their first offensive possessions. Capital has the ball at its own 20 with 4:42 remaining in the first quarter.
