Cool outdoor films are coming to Boise

If you're bored with the usual Hollywood films, there are two cool outdoor flicks coming to Boise and you can see them on the big screen.

On Thursday "Race Across The Sky" will be shown at 9 p.m. the Edwards 22 in Boise. It's a documentary on the 2009 Leadville 100 mountain bike race and features Idahoan Rebecca Rusch, who won the womens division. Tickets are $12.50. The film is about more than the race itself. It features stories about the riders and how a race helped save a destitute Colorado mining town. To see a trailer, click HERE

On Tuesday, the same folks who brought last year's "Drift" fly fishing film to Boise are back with "Rise" at the Egyptian. "Rise" follows the same format - really cool fishing footage in scenic places, including the Henrys Fork, and the people who love fishing there. Tickets are $10. Box office opens at 6:30 p.m and showtime is 7:30 p.m. Tickets include raffles for door prizes. To see a trailer click HERE
