BOYS CROSS COUNTRY
Eric Fitzpatrick, Boise: The senior became the fourth boy to win three state championships in Idaho's largest classification by claiming his third consecutive 5A championship in 16:01.86, less than a second ahead of runner-up Cody Helbling of Lake City. Fitzpatrick's victory led the Braves to the team championship in Worley — their first since 2005. He joined Matt Knoff (Highland, 2000-02), Billy Herman (Centennial, 1993-95) and Jason Uhlman (Lewiston, 1989-91) as three time 5A winners.
GIRLS CROSS COUNTRY
Emily Nist, Bishop Kelly: The sophomore ran to her second consecutive 4A state championship and led the Knights to an easy victory in the team race — their sixth in seven years. Nist ran the second-fastest time on the state championship course in Worley, clocking in at 18 minutes, 20.85 seconds. Only 5A champion Kinsey Gomez of Coeur d'Alene ran faster in 18:09.41.
VOLLEYBALL
Kali Roche, Parma: In four matches Saturday, she recorded a combined 98 kills and 41 blocks to lead Parma (28-7) to its second consecutive state championship. The Panthers were forced to beat Nampa Christian twice to claim the title because of an earlier loss in the tournament.
FOOTBALL
Kyle Sosnowski, Capital: The senior tight end/safety scored two touchdowns on offense and picked off his first pass of the season in the Eagles' 35-14 5A Southern Idaho Conference divisional playoff victory against Boise. His first touchdown reception from Jeremy Powers covered 69 yards in the first quarter. His second touchdown catch (24 yards) was bobbled at first, but he hauled it in while lying on his back in the end zone. Capital (9-0) hosts Mountain View (7-2) in the first round of the state playoffs this week.

Sosnowski
Sos had a great game last Thursday. He's an outstanding young man as well as a great football player. He'll be fun to watch at BSU in the future.
