Important piece of pavement

ImageIt was only a small piece of pavement, but it made a big difference.

When the East ParkCenter Bridge was first completed and opened this fall, there was a small patch of dirt between the Boise Greenbelt and the bike path on the bridge.

Naturally, road bicyclists didn't like it. You don't like to take your roadie on dirt. I have a road bike for commuting and try to never ride on dirt or gravel where I can pick up goat heads or anything else that will cause a flat. Thin tires in soft dirt also means a crash.

Anyway, it's good to report that highway crews put down a small, but very important, piece of pavement between the Greenbelt and the bike path on the northeast side of the bridge.

Good riding.

It'll be slick soon...get a cruiser, carry stuff and live.
