Just in case you missed it, Dave Litster doesn't like the streetcar.
He considers it Mayor Dave Bieter's "trolley folly."
And in a slick campaign flier that made its way into mailboxes this week, the Boise City Council candidate mentions the trolley eight, count 'em, eight times. Four times on each side. I guess that's a balanced platform, of a sense.
The flier has sparked a little bit of back-and-forth between Litster and his opponent, TJ Thomson.
Litster's flier quotes Thomson as saying "the streetcar system could potentially be largely beneficial to Boise." Litster attributes that quote to Boise Weekly's Web site.
Thomson says Litster is misrepresenting him. Thomson maintains that he is neutral on the streetcar and supports a public vote on the $60 million project — a cause Litster has championed through the campaign.
The streetcar debate, like the proposed project itself, just seems to go in circles.
