ESPN's "College GameDay" is coming to Air Force Academy for the Air Force — Army game on Nov. 7.

Next week’s game will mark the third time "College GameDay" has broadcast from the Academy. The crew was there in 2001 for the Army game and in 2002 for the contest against Notre Dame. "College GameDay" will kickoff a week of programming in conjunction with Veterans Day.

A quick sampling

• We’ve been through this before, but the San Jose Mercury News brought it up again this week. San Jose State stands to gain no matter what happens in this week’s game against Boise State. A win would be a boon to the program. A loss and the Broncos are one step closer to the BCS and providing SJSU with an infusion of cash.

• Who should be higher in the polls — TCU or Boise State? Athlon editors picked picked TCU.

Prediction time

1. If Oregon beats USC this week, the Ducks will jump an undefeated Boise State in the AP and coaches’ polls. It isn’t fair — given that Boise State beat the Ducks — but just watch.

And I think it’s a real possibility that Oregon beats the Trojans.

2. From ESPN.com’s Graham Watson:

Idaho 44, Louisiana Tech 20: The focus of Idaho’s loss to Nevada was on the 70 points the Vandals allowed to one of the nation’s top offenses, not on the 45 points they scored. It’s important to note that while Idaho’s defense might leave a little something to be desired, its offense can play with most teams in the country. And Louisiana Tech isn’t nearly as dynamic as Nevada.

3. My take: An Idaho victory would all but assure the Vandals (6-2) of a bowl invitation at the end of the regular season. The Vandals’ defense won’t get the same kind of test it got last week. Idaho 35, Louisiana Tech 24.
