CROP Walk update; youth night for tolerance

CROP Walk update

Were you part of the recent local CROP Walks for hunger awareness in Ada and Canyon Counties? Just heard from Ted Wimer, organizer of the Boise walk. Wimer said about 350 walkers came to participate, from 20 different local churches and organizations.

“Plus,” Wimer said, “we had about half a dozen show up just to walk. Some didn't realize this was a pledge walk and wondered how just walking helps with hunger alleviation. I told them our motto is ‘We walk because they have to walk.’  So just walking helps raise awareness in our community, if nothing else."

The Boise event brought in $15,641 in cash and checks, donated at the walk, and about $3,700 more in online donations.

Wimer sends his thanks out to the community.

Shouldn't the Q be for Queer and then C for Curious?

Just asking. If you have two Q's you lose a Q saying it fast. Not very good for PR.

There is no life in Idaho...it is a mirror site on god's server. You were dreaming but it is over. Go to your residence and await our commands and THEN we will restore control...

This would make a great feature story.

You should beg your editor to let you do a feature on GLBTQ issues in high schools. It's got a great conflict––"out" kids versus the heteronormative high school environment––and hints at how they're beginning to organize to enact social change. Makes for good copy.

It would just bring more Craig jokes, the kids are alright.
