GIRLS SOCCER
Tegan Griffin, Timberline: The sophomore defender scored the winning goal in Timberline's 2-1 victory Wednesday against Boise in the 5A District Three championship match. Griffin and the two-time defending state champion Wolves (11-2-4) play Rocky Mountain (11-8-2) at 11:45 a.m. Thursday at Rocky Mountain in the first round of the state tournament.
BOYS SOCCER
Josh Lindsay, Boise: The senior goalkeeper had a combined 10 saves in shutouts against Centennial and Eagle in the 5A District Three tournament, bringing Boise's shutout total this season to 13. He had five saves in a 5-0 victory against Centennial in the tournament semifinals, and added five more and took a couple big knocks in a 1-0 victory against Eagle in the championship. Boise (15-1-1) plays Mountain View (11-6-2) at 11:45 a.m. Thursday in the first round of the state tournament at Eagle.
FOOTBALL
Steven Laurino, Boise: The senior quarterback threw for 148 yards and two TDs, and ran for 115 yards and two TDs to lead Boise to its first victory, 28-14, against intracity rival Timberline on Friday. With the win, the Braves (3-4, 1-3 5A SIC Division 1) moved into a tie with Timberline (3-4, 1-3) for the final divisional playoff berth. The Braves host Borah (0-7, 0-4) and Timberline visits Mountain View (5-2, 3-1) to end the regular season Friday.
GIRLS CROSS COUNTRY
Emily Nist, Bishop Kelly: The sophomore won the Boise City Meet at Ann Morrison Park in 18:36.43 to pace the Knights to the team victory. BK finished with 26 points and Boise was second with 30. The 4A District Three meet is Thursday at Eagle Island State Park and the state meet is Oct. 31 in Worley.
BOYS CROSS COUNTRY
Eric Fitzpatrick, Boise: The senior won the Boise City Meet at Ann Morrison Park in 16:27.53 and the Braves won the team title with 32 points, well ahead of runner-up Bishop Kelly's 56. The 5A District Three meet is Friday at Eagle Island State Park and the state meet is Oct. 31 in Worley.
VOLLEYBALL
Jordyn Glorfield, Centennial: The senior outside hitter led the Patriots to a pair of 5A Southern Idaho Conference victories. On Tuesday, she had nine kills, eight blocks, six digs and two aces in a 25-7, 25-15, 25-8 victory against Boise. On Thursday, Glorfield recorded 13 kills, 12 digs and seven blocks in a 25-21, 25-22, 25-20 victory against Borah. The Patriots play Mountain View in the first round of the District Three tournament at 6 p.m. Monday at Mountain View.
