Another new local blog, and one worth bookmarking.
This one comes from Marc Johnson — the host of Idaho Public Television's "Idaho Reports," turned aide to former Gov. Cecil Andrus, turned president of Gallatin Public Affairs in Boise.
In his inaugural post, Johnson offers a nice historical look at Supreme Court nominations, and the role Idaho Sen. William E. Borah played in the process of his era.
"(Borah) had a major and frequently behind the scenes hand in influencing a number of Supreme Court appointments during his 30-plus years in the Senate," writes Johnson. "Two appointments he championed in the 1930's rank today as among the greatest Supreme Court justices ever."
I've crossed paths with Johnson in a number of ways during my 24 years in Idaho. Let me be among the first to welcome him into the Idaho blogosphere.

That's great.
Maybe he'll throw in a blog about the BPD taser lawsuit for the publicity of the individuals involved and what that means to the BPD.... well, since you haven't written anything about it KR, there's lots of oppportunity to be original.
It was news Monday and yet you are quite... what's up with that? Instead your Wed op/ed is about the clunkers program... I might as well be reading the National Inquire. Or is this topic something you are also "waiting to unfold" before you offer an opinion?
For instance this is an example of where Internet anonymity would have been good. A simple search shows Cory Bammert's (one of BPD's finest and named in the lawsuit) Facebook profile with a tattoo that says "Only God Can Judge Me". Assumably that would be officer Bammert's tattoo on his arm. How ironic (& funny). Goodness only knows what kind of taser and Freudian comments are on his pages... Any guess if something like that might show up in court???? Supreme Court maybe? (just to tie in to the topic).
Just wanted to go on the record...
Another stupendously ignorant comment by Udapimp.
And just how is Kevin "quite"...??? Quite what???
Quite. It's a opinion. Got enough modifiers for ignorant?
Well, you are the poet. Frankly I feel the modifier is redundant and dilutes the overall effect of the criticism. That may just be me.
Thanks for writing.

Dear Poet, You could at least say dapimp is a chimp.

It's hardly worth the time
to explain it's a typo

PS you may note the Wednesday op/ed is about the BPD incident.
It's not as eloquent as my post, but it is "quite" critical of BPD and the mayor.
Yo I say we ain't going down like that! Are they chillin, willin
Man, who's the real villian? Yo PEACE!

So, Richert is supposed to comment on everything you think is
worth a story? It seems there is quite a bit of coverage on that issue. If not, why don't you submit a reader's view?
I look forward to reading Johnson's blog. He's been around Idaho a long time and has a good historical perspective of current affairs.
what becourteous said
looking forward to reading it
I'm not blogagamous but I don't really play the field, I'm old.
