Best of Treasure Valley: The outrage!
It was me, OK? I'm the editor of Best of Treasure Valley. Bury me with your outrage — about McDonald's winning Best Fries, about how we should restrict it to locally owned businesses, about how we should ignore the masses who voted, publishing our own hifalutin critics' choices instead.
Yada, yada, yada.
I write this with a big grin.
Look, I feel your pain. I groaned as hard as anyone about a few winners. We all have our favorites. Righteous indignation is part of the game.
Was there organized vote-rallying by a few winners? Of course. But the same thing happens in politics. Campaigns are important in elections.
Love it or hate it, Best of Treasure Valley gets Idahoans talking. It makes us consider the great things we have — and the not-so-great ones — even if we can't agree. Bottom line: The voters spoke.
Is Best of Treasure Valley perfect? Of course not. Is it a ton of work to pull together each year? You don't even know, buddy.
But it's worth it. Enjoy — even if you're still ranting.
