Otter to tour U of I's Parma ag center

This just in from the governor's office:

Governor C.L. “Butch” Otter will visit the University of Idaho Ag Research and Extension Center in Parma on Wednesday, July 8 to discuss the center’s proposed closure.

The tour comes as local agricultural groups are urging Otter to find the $500,000 to keep the center in operations, buying them time to find alternate funding for the long term. "We all use this extension station to do research on our crops," Parma Mayor Margie Watson told the Associated Press. "We were not brought to the table to ask how we could help."

Through a spokesman, Otter has been noncommittal.

U of I is a land grant college

Ag should be their first business. They should cut other programs first, and if they have to cut an ag research station it should be in their home town first. They have crapped on southern Idaho way to many times to be allowed to do this.

Truth is hard to come by

You do realize the Parma is the center of the Idaho universe!
