Michael Jackson: How will you remember him?
It's fact: Michael Jackson has died. It's difficult to believe, but it's been confirmed by reputable news sources. That, on top of Farrah Fawcett's death, has made this a jaw-dropping day in pop history. Unreal.
I just hope Jackson's legacy as a genius entertainer overshadows his bizarre, tabloid-filled life. His run of albums between 1979 and 1987 was incredible. His influence on modern pop music and video, on R&B and hip-hop culture, is immeasurable.
I remember exactly what I was doing as a child when Elvis Presley died: Watching after-school TV. I think it was "Superman."
Will you remember this day? More important, how will you remember Michael Jackson? As circus freak or amazing entertainer, as accused child molester or Guinness World Record holder for charity support?
One this is sure: It's difficult to imagine any pop icon achieving this sort of global status ever again.

He was great before he went crazy...
I think the 80's were his best time...
"Beat it" album still brings back good memories..
HE WAS GREAT PERIOD
As we have seen everyone has bones in their closets. If you are a public figure or star they are out there for all to see!!!
Michael Jackson was a music Icon! The King of Pop! He laid down a path for many to follow and will be remembered forever!
Lets not for get all the Good he has done in his life!!! The many people he has help that we will never know about!!!
May he Rest In Peace!!
God Bless
I'll remember him as incredibly talented...
Until the pressures and excesses of all those hangers-on that surrounded him, stole his childhood and his adult life, made him a virtual recluse and nut job.
Remember?
Who wants to remember it?
Michael Jackson
He caused alot of pain to alot of family's, probably alot not known as of yet.
Great Entertainer,
Before he went Mad. I will always remember his success with "Beat it" and "Thriller". The videos on MTV back in the day were great.
His kids
I was more into the hair bands back in the day, but I think we all tried doing the moonwalk at some point. He did have a major impact on music. But I also believe he was a child molestor, even though the courts don't agree. My concern now is his kids. I don't know if they're actually his or if he just purchased the kids, but I hope they go live a normal life somewhere. Most of the Jackson family seems to be nutty, so hopefully those kids end up somewhere else.
What's the difference between...
What's the difference between Michael Jackson and acne?
I Guess the Girl is Paul McCartneys Now...
Officially.
Overrated
Two hit wonder.
Albums albeit, but does anyone remember more than the songs on Bad, and Thriller? (okay my favorite MJ song is on Bad).
But really, 30 years and only a couple really good albums. ????
Ben, the ENTIRE Off The Wall LP, Rockin' Robin...
Man, if you can't remember Off The Wall, you weren't an embryo even. That was rump-shakin' heaven. I was 13.

Don't Stop (Till You Get Enough)
The day that pop music died
Where would music be without Michael? He is the kind of entertainer that comes around once in a life time. The world has lost a genius!!
Play me a song
C'mon Deeds. Look at that list.
The first few are Jackson 5 carry overs.
AND MJ has been in a musical coma since 2001.
Off The Wall, given the image, was only #3. That was AFTER much recognition in The Jacksons (5). Several of those on the list are only due to co-writers. Heck his sister is right up there with him on records, so you put two together like Beatles writer and MJ, does the credit go to him or McCartney? (ie. We are the World- of which was also a group song).
Let's keep things in perspective.
Jackson could have been so much MORE if he wasn't such a fruit cake. So I'll r. him as a circus freak with TWO good albums and then he burned up (no pun intended) in a flash.
here's the epitome of the story doing a duo performance with Brittany Spears:

Those duets got double top billings depending on whose LP, no?
----------
Off The Wall was off the radar for you, I guess.
Producers
Consider this thought Deeds, it may not be the artist as much as it the talent of the producer and writer. MJ only wrote some of his hits.
Quincy Jones.
Produced MJ top two albums. Without Quincy Jones, MJ did not do nearly as well. Jones certainly has a track record.
Mutt Lang.
AC/DC and Shania. ACDC has the #2 album. Shania has the top selling female album. But more to the point Lang can produce and has a good history (to say nothing of an ugly dude scoring like that).
So a future pop icon achieving global status?
Not without a great producer and great writers.
Will you remember watching Barney when Quincy Jones dies?
Just chill, dammit.
----------
And Don't diss Ahmet Ertegun either.
Sad and tragic
He could have been a difference maker beyond his performance, but upbringing and personal demons took him away from his God given talents. Only Mark Sanford is glad he's gone.
AND some middle-aged hottie in Buenos Aires...

Supporting nothing everywhere all day and very well.
Thank you for hollering.
You MIGHT remember him as a death by medical mishap or ????
From what I am gathering his cardiologist made the 911 call and now they cannot find him and have impounded his car...
There are factors that will delay the autospy results, being no doctor to sign the death certificate meaning the Coroner's Office had to handle things straight off...the undetermined prescriptions Jackson was taking and of course the missing doctor who could explain everything.
Will we find him dead also, victim of an apparent suicide or then again?
The lutefisk is definitely smelling today.

I hate it when I'm at least pretty close.
