The Western Athletic Conference is moving its men’s and women’s basketball tournaments to Las Vegas in 2011, the Honolulu Advertiser reported Tuesday.

The WAC has scheduled a “major announcement” for Wednesday afternoon.

The Orleans Hotel and Casino is expected to be the host at its 9,000-seat arena.

The tournaments will be held in Reno in 2010.

The Las Vegas Review-Journal reports that the event will be March 9-12, the same time as the Mountain West Conference tournament at the Thomas & Mack Center in Las Vegas.

"Over the course of the last year, it has become more critical and important to find a neutral site to satisfy the concerns of our men's and women's coaches," WAC commissioner Karl Benson told the Las Vegas paper.

Nice job sucking both conferences into a black hole!

Supporting nothing everywhere all day and very well.

Thank you for hollering.

I just read that the NCAA will not recognize a championship...

in any state which allows single game wagering, in response to Delaware's(?) plans to offer State Lottery games based on that?

These are the plans I have heard.
