Report: Broncos gain quarterback commit for 2010

Boise State has landed a quarterback commitment for the incoming Class of 2010, according to ESPN.

Grant Hedrick, a 6-foot-1, 180-pounder from Central High in Independence, Ore., committed to the Broncos on Saturday, ESPN reported.

For more on Hedrick, click here.

The Broncos currently have four quarterbacks on the roster for the 2009 season: sophomore starter Kellen Moore, junior Mike Coughlin and incoming freshmen Joe Southwick and Mike Tamburo.

ESPN is starving I guess. Kid could be gone or dead in a year.

Thank you for hollering.

Only 180?

He better start eating. He won't make it on 180 pounds.

Hey Kellen Moore's weight

Hey Kellen Moore's weight last year was 187. Give this kid a break........he still has a whole season to play high school ball. It is a LONG ways off before he even plays. Once he gets here and works with the strength coaches he'll be FINE!!!!!!!!

180 is fine for now

By the time this newest Bronco commit arrives in Boise, he will probably be at least 195, thanks to normal maturation (he's only 16 or 17) and continued weight training during his senior year of HS. He'll be just fine. Don't forget that Kellen Moore is listed an inch shorter and only 7 lbs. heavier than Hedrick is right now, and Moore doesn't seem to have any problems competing on an extremely high level.

He'd better think about special teams with what's already there.

And what if he takes a red

And what if he takes a red shirt year? By that time the other qbs will be juniors or seniors and he will have a good shot at three years at the helm if he is good enough. And he must be pretty good for them to offer him a scholarship right now. So by the time he is in the running to take the starting job assuming he does that well, he will have two or three years to mature a lot more. Coaches probably know a lot more about their talent pool than some of you dweebs.

Just a dweeb

But I agree on the redshirt year, another super prospect in the fold with the coaching staff priming him for the future. He'll be ready to compete with Tamburo and Southwick when Kellen leaves after the 2011 season.

This program does everything well all day and everyday, and we can all just keep hollering. Ain't if fun?
