Boise State's future non-conference football schedules

There has been much confusion over the Broncos' future non-conference schedules.
Here they are (dates tentative). In even years, the Broncos can schedule four non-conference games. In odd years (or years when the Broncos travel to Hawaii), they can schedule up to five non-conference games.

Tack on another decent BCS opponent in 2010...
... and I'll be way more excited for that season than this upcoming one. Say what you want about them, but Oregon State is a solid BCS opponent. When they have their stuff together, they can take on anyone.
I'd love to see Michigan scheduled for 2010. People will give BSU crap for scheduling the Wolverines given they've had a rough couple of years... but I think by next year Rich Rodriguez will have that program humming when he starts bringing in recruits that fit his schemes. Besides, I'd love a change to see a game at The Big House!

You are right to suggest scheduling Michigan--they would be a great opponent--I would love to see that game in Ann Arbor! They are also 1-5 in their last five bowl games..the difference..they played; Florida, USC, Nebraska, Texas, and USC (2). They will win again and they will continue to make history. Suggesting they are crap certifies those fans as either crackheads or members of the horse-blinded opinionated fanatics-only bronco nation...lol. GO BLUE!!! Beat Michigan and you make history (App State)...beat BSU and, well, who cares...lol.

Please schedule a non-conference team that has had a winning record this past decade or is not in a weaker conference than the WAC. Were not going to get respect playing Toledo, Wyoming, Tulsa, Bowling Green, etc. If we want to get in a better conference we have to prove we can play with the big dogs. Not just in bowl games. We need to get over the Mid Major hump and go to the next level. Scheduling Pee wee teams isn't getting us there anytime soon.

Tulsa had a winning season last year (11-3). Bowling Green (6-6) isn't a bad team, either. I will agree that playing Wyoming and Toledo are beneath us, though.
2012
2012 looks like it's gonna be legit (assuming OSU, BYU & Utes remain contenders). Kellen Moore will be a senior that year too, right?

I can't believe the Idaho fans haven't jumped on the band wagon about the BSU math skills . If Kellen was a Freshman in 08 aSO-09 JR.10 SR.11 by 2012 he will be trying to make it as a backup in the Canadian Foodball League.
But that is a good schedule, BSU is trying, and at least one or two of those teams will be contenders.
In 2012 he will be wrapping up his graduate thesis, silly.
It's a FIVE year school last time I heard. It escapes me how the 'redshirt' thing works right now but I just WOKE UP...

Non-Conference Scedule
If I'm not mistaken Washingnton is not in our conf. and two days ago I saw somewhere that they were on the schedule for either 2010 or 2011....Why can't we get this straight?

Better do some research on creampuffs. You're looking@ our schedule and you're are still not satisfied? Dude you need to go through all the teams and you'll see their weak links. I'm not going to belabour the point,but you need to do some serious research on scheduling.No matter who you play,there will always be teams that say you played no one. San Jose plays USC this year. Do you think they'll get any respect for getting pummeled? You take a look@ San Jose's schedule this year and you'll have to laugh. This is a game of $$$$$. San Jose will get 7 figures for a game like this. Didn't you read the Idaho Statesman this morning?
That is the difference
That is the difference between the WAC and real conferences. No one cares or will ever care about San Jose State, just like no one cares about Appalacian State (you know who they are right) or for that matter Boise State.
Start playing top non conference opponents consistently every year and winning those games as well as your conference and make a conference switch. Then maybe the college football world will care.
Until you wake up to what they call reality, no one will give a blue smurf buffalo chip about the bronco billies.

Gene needs to make the
Gene needs to make the Oregon State game an annual event. I love playing those guys and their fans are pretty cool as well. It has always been a great match-up. They aren't the sissies from Eugene, just good football people.
BYU Comparison
Just for comparison's sake.... here is BYU's current non-conference schedule through 2015. Interestingly, the current soft teams on the schedule are from BSU's conference (though there is, of course, always the chance of a FCS or lower FBS team to join the mix in future years).

BSU's reputation
BSU is rapidly gaining a national reputation for two things: (1) playing in a weak conference and avoiding legit non-conf. opponents; (2) being a "cute" team that loses bowl games.

He's going to continue to go through Q.Bs with the spread Offense.By Sept3rd Boise State will take care of your spread that injures so many Q.Bs in his short tenure as Offenssive Coordinator. Good luck on the BLUE-turf because you'll find out just as Oregon State that our stadium is setup to where it seems like the fans are hovering right over you. Wyoming found that out about 4 years ago when their Q.B. couldn't even scream loud enough to his teamates to hear his play calls.Kellen Moore didn't have any problems in Autsen that supposedly has one of the loudest crowds in the NCAA. Boise State quieted the 58,900 fans in Oregon.If i remember right, they began booing the Oregon Duck's.

I can almost see the spit on your monitor screen. Wake up to what they call reality. Moore couldn't play in the League. He's a WAC QB. The talent level just isn't there. I mean, sure he put up some nice numbers last season, but he could never play in a real conference, say the PAC 10 for instance. He is slow, has limited arm strength and doesn't look off the db's. And if it were not for the fact that the Ducks had to play 3rd, 4th and 5th string last year, he would be 0-1 vs, the Pac.
As luck would have it he is 1-0, soon to be 1-1 with utter embarassment on the horizon, what with another WAC bowl to lose, as well as the Va. Tech game in '10.
Reality is a tough thing to handle. Especially when clouded by fake blue grass and the aroma of manure.

Seriously, it's irritating to need to slap this argument all the time. But, if I must...
Every conference has their weaklings. Heck, the Pac-10 has UCLA, Washington, Washington State, Stanford, Arizona, Arizona State.
As far as the Oregon game last year, Oregon's QB situation was an afterthought. The big hype with Oregon was their "great" defense and "unstoppable" running game. Honestly, the QB never got mentioned in the pre-game since Oregon was supposed to run all over Boise State and shut down their high-scoring Offense. Yet, a red-shirt FRESHMAN dismantled that "great" secondary for over 300 passing yards. True, the Oregon running backs totaled almost 200 yds and a pair of scores, but that is hardly "unstoppable".
The QB for the Ducks was like being a running back being Colt Brennan. Sure, you are in the game, but does anyone really notice unless you caught the ball?
Boise State has 3 things going for them this year:
#1 Home field advantage in a tough place
#2 The honor of beating Oregon last season IN EUGENE!
#3 A team that returns most of its players from last year.
I honestly dont think Oregon's offense is good enough against Boise State's defense.
