Centennial High graduate Heather Adams earns $7,500 SAMMY Award

Recent Centennial High graduate and standout basketball player Heather Adams is among 25 student-athletes selected from 55,000 applicants as national recipients of a 2009 Scholar Athlete Milk Mustache of the Year (SAMMY) Award.

Adams, who will play college basketball at Northwest Nazarene in Nampa, maintained a 4.1 GPA at Centennial and was ranked in the top 1 percent of her class. She also is a member of the Olympic Development Program and was an All-Idaho selection in basketball.

She will receive a $7,500 college scholarship and join Michelle Kwan and Kurt Warner for an award ceremony and induction into the SAMMY Hall of Fame on June 27 at Disney's Wide World of Sports. Each of the 25 winners also will be featured in a special-edition Milk Mustache ad in USA Today on June 26.
