Taking care of business: don't miss these Saturday events

Spring volunteer fairs

Two spring volunteer fairs run concurrently on Saturday, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Meridian School District Service Center, 1303 E. Central Drive in Meridian, and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Caldwell Armory, 1200 S. Kimball in Caldwell.

Both fairs are sponsored by the Idaho Department of Labor, the Southwest Idaho Directors of Volunteer Services, the Idaho Nonprofit Center and the Governor’s Commission on Service and Volunteerism.

The purpose of the fairs is to help the large number of people in the Treasure Valley who have recently lost their jobs, connect with volunteer opportunities that fit their particular talents. The fair will also be an opportunity for people to network, and explore new potential job markets.

Among the organizations participating in the fairs are Terry Reilly Health Services, the Red Cross, the Cancer Society, World Relief, the Boise Art Museum, the Living Independence Network, and many more.

More information on the Spring Volunteer Fairs is online at labor.idaho.gov or by phone at 332-3575 ext. 3424 for the Meridian event and 364-7781 ext. 3296 for the Caldwell event.

Millions of people like Beethoven.
