Brewery tours, on-premise sales begin at Ontario’s Beer Valley Brewing this weekend.

Anyone who wants to buy some fresh beer from Pete Ricks’ Beer Valley Brewing is in luck.

The Ontario-based brewery is now open for limited hours on weekends so they can sell 64 ounce growlers of fresh Owyhee Amber Ale, Pigskin Pale Ale, Leafer Madness Imperial Pale Ale, and Black Flag Imperial Stout. The brewery will also be selling cases of 22-ounce bottles of the aforementioned beers directly to thirsty consumers.

Ricks is also giving tours of the brewery but his Oregon brewing license does not allow for any free tasting, which, of course, is the best part of any brewery tour. So that’s a bummer.

Ricks’ brewing license requires him to serve food to be be able to serve beer, and that isn’t likely going to happen for a while, he said. Over 2,000 square feet of his brewery is earmarked for a pub/tasting room somewhere down the line, but for now, Ricks is concentrating on brewing his growing number of beers, which include the popular Black Flag and Leafer Madness, his two biggest sellers.

Beer Valley Brewing is the closest thing we have in the Treasure Valley to a home-town local beer in a bottle. I know the Boise beer community likes to support local, so if you are over near Ontario during the weekends, stop by.

The brewery, located at 937 SE 12 Ave. in Ontario, will be open from from 3-to-7 p.m. this Friday and 11 a.m.-to-3 p.m. this Saturday, before settling into regular weekend hours next week, when the brewery will be open between 2-to-6 p.m. Thursdays and Fridays and from 11 a.m.-to-3 p.m. on Saturdays.

The Pigskin Pale Ale and Owyhee Amber Ale growlers (which hold four pints of fresh beer) sell for $10 each, with a case of 12 double deuce bottles sell for $35.

The Leafer Madness growlers cost $15 and a case of 22 ounce bottles costs $70. The Black Flag growlers sell for $20, with a case of 22 ounce bottles costing $100.

A case of the Highway to Ale Barley wine will cost $90.

SE 9th is where the old TIME-DC was, 18th is the truck route...

So it's somewhere inbetween Boston Beef House and the island?

I've lived here 25 years and without a map I have no idea where that's at.

Welcome to D2, glad you could come to sense the misery we built ourselves. We'll find that beer somehow!
